System Requirements Analysis

Analysis of System Requirements is usually done before deciding to buy or build a technology solution.  It consists of:

  1. A Business Requirements Analysis, and

  2. A Technology and Infrastructure Requirements Analysis.

The Business Requirement Analysis focuses on strategic and business objectives which are to be achieved by the introduction of the proposed solution. The analysis also considers the organization's structure and core business processes.

The Technology and Infrastructure Requirements Analysis looks to which (if any) changes are required to the organization's existing ICT Infrastructure. Often organizations have defined standards that constrain choices of available technologies. Any statement of system requirements must include those. And last but not least: system security requirements are becoming an increasingly important part of any requirements analysis.

Our clients often wish to compare the option of continuing their current (bespoke) system against buy and build alternatives.  Often the conclusion is that modification (modernization) of existing systems is a preferred option.
