NMIT

NMIT

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology is a high quality tertiary education provider located in the Nelson / Marlborough region at the top of New Zealand’s South Island. Each year, NMIT attracts around 3,600 equivalent full time students and offers more than 80 programmes at certificate, diploma or degree level across a broad range of areas.

NMIT asked FuseIT to develop an ICT Strategy.

Martin Vanner, CFO and Director of Corporate Services explains why.

  1. Why did you choose FuseIT as your consulting partner?
NMIT chose FuseIT for their extensive experience across different sectors and internationally. We wanted a fresh look at the strategic needs of an ITP from a consultancy that would not have any preconceived views of our sector.

  2. What value did you get out of the ICT Strategy exercise?
NMIT Directorate, staff and students were engaged in the process and have a shared view of the strategic needs of the institute. We now have a clear, concise strategy document that will help guide us through our ICT strategic “journey”.

  3. What about the strategic importance of digital learning?
Digital learning is critical to a blended teaching and learning approach and is a strategic priority for NMIT.

  4. How will new technologies impact NMIT in the future?
NMIT believes that the next generation of students will expect a “connected” learning model with integrated student services, on demand learning, support of a mobile lifestyle, data driven and personalized. New technologies will be essential to delivering this blended teaching and learning environment within the “bricks & mortar” of our campus and in the virtual worldx.
